Community Justice

Gladue Writer

The Gladue Writer Program creates detailed reports that highlight the unique circumstances of Indigenous offenders, helping courts understand the systemic factors that may have contributed to their involvement in the justice system.

These reports provide culturally relevant sentencing recommendations aimed at promoting rehabilitation and reducing over-incarceration of Indigenous people. Direct service users are Indigenous individuals facing sentencing in the justice system who have pleaded guilty or been found guilty of an offense.
